Council to Meet on Wednesdays

New services available to Torrance County residents. New office in Moriarty!

We continue to wait on funding for the upgrades of the facility. Applications have been made to both State and Federal Agencies for assistance.

Welcome to the City of Moriarty Website

The citizens, the staff, and, we, the elected officials welcome you to the City of Moriarty website. Please take a few minutes to browse through our site and take a glimpse at what our fine City has to offer. Moriarty is called the "Crossroads of Opportunity" because it is perfectly located in the heart of New Mexico along the Historic Route 66, "The Mother Road" and offers many prospecting possibilities.

We invite you to visit and experience Moriarty in person. You will find the people to be the friendliest and most hospitable you have ever met!The photos above only give you a brief glimpse of our community from the pumpkin, corn, and bean harvests, to the 4th of July Rodeo and Parade, the Moriarty Historical Museum, and the Moriarty Municipal Airport.

As for our future, Moriarty's strong agricultural and ranching roots and rural character make it the perfect setting for horse racing, which is in the works with the planned relocation of the Downs at Albuquerque to our City. As you can see, we are proud of Moriarty - from its origins as small farming community through its continuing development.

It is the mission of the City of Moriarty to provide residents, visitors, and the business community with the highest quality of municipal services, in the most efficient and courteous manner, and to enhance the quality of life through resourceful planning and visionary leadership.

Sincerely,

Ted Hart, Mayor

What are People Saying

"The City of Moriarty is a progressive little community along I-40. It is located in the center of New Mexico in the high desert climate of Estancia Valley, which is surrounded by beautiful Rocky Mountains and has sunsets which are an artist's dream which set against mountains that turn a rich lapis at twilight. Roadrunners and rattlesnakes live here along with tough, determined, caring people. It is a great place to live." Click here for more
